Green Woodworking : 3 day Make a stool
Fri 22 - 24 September 2023
Green woodworking. Stool Making. (2 ½ days)
Aimed at the beginner, this course will teach you the basic skills of green woodworking. Starting with a log you will learn how to fashion it using traditional tools into a hand crafted piece of furniture without the need for any glue, nails or screws. The whole process takes 2 ½ days and is an enjoyable experience resulting in the confidence to be able to create your own designs.
The course is led by Charles Hooper, an experienced green woodworker who has been teaching for 10 years. Charles originally learned green woodworking during the filming for BBC’s Mastercrafts in 2009. Since then Charles has honed his skills making much of the furniture and features at Forest Garden Shovelstrode and is passionate in wanting to preserve this heritage craft by passing on his knowledge and experience.
Tea, coffee & biscuits are provided. Please bring a packed lunch for each day.
This course runs from 0900am until 5.30pm. The final day generally ends in time for lunch.
