We know this area very well, so have compiled a list of places you simply must see during your time in one of our log cabin hires.

From romantic walks in the countryside, to checking out local castles, there is something for all couples to enjoy in East Grinstead and the surrounding areas. Get in touch to hire a log cabin in our beautiful Sussex forest for your couple’s getaway.

Kingscote Estate and Vineyard

One for the wine lovers. Nestled within the rolling hills of West Sussex, just a 20 minute drive from you log cabin and yurt hire, you’ll find Kingscote Estate and Vineyard.

If you’re looking for something truly unique to do together this is the place to go. You’ll get to experience tours, wine tasting, lunches, afternoon teas and a chance to take in some of Sussex’s local history.

East Grinstead Cycle Routes and Electric Bike Hire

Perhaps instead of walking, you’d like to explore what Sussex has to offer on wheels. Our log cabin hires are located in the heart of East Grinstead, which is home to many exciting cycle paths, allowing you and your partner to explore the surroundings.

Country Hire & Go offers the opportunity to hire an electric monkey bike, a truly unique way to explore our surrounding areas! We are very close to the Forest Way, an old disused railway track turned into a cycle path all the way from Forest Row to Groombridge.

Hammerwood Park

This 1792 mansion is set in the heart of East Grinstead, and one of our neighbours at just 2 miles down the road from our log cabin holiday accommodation.

The house opens to the public for 3 days a week in the spring and summer months, but the grounds offer a lovely walk, allowing you to spend some quality time together in such a relaxing environment.

Hever Castle and Gardens

If you’re fans of history, there is plenty to learn and explore in East Grinstead during your stay with us at Forest Garden Shovelstrode. Hever Castle is the childhood home of Anne Boleyn which you can walk through and enjoy the historic architecture and interior design.

The grand grounds are perfect for sunshine strolls, particularly if you are visiting our forest log cabin holiday accommodation over the summer.
