Savannah Yurt

Savannah yurt is 6 metres in diameter and is made locally using ash and hazel. It is based further down into the woodland and is very private and tranquil. There is a large decking area outside allowing guests to enjoy the peace of the woodland, There is a fire pit and barbeque outside. It sleeps 5 people very comfortably. It is furnished with sheepskin rugs, leapard print throws and definitely has that 'Out of Africa' feel. The log burner is situated to one side, creating a very spacious feel. It has a double ring camping stove inside the yurt allowing guests to cook in comfort whatever the weather. It has a fully equipped kitchen area with everything you will need to make some wonderful meals. Please see our link Additional information which has a full list of everything inside the yurt. There are 2 double futon sofas, one of which is fully furnished with bed linen (includes double duvet and cover, 2 pillows & covers) It also has a single Futon. Other single or double beds can be provided with a duvet, pillow and cover and one bottom sheet at additional cost of £10 per person. If guests require a camping bed inside Savannah there is an extra charge of £10. Hollistic massage is available to guests - please contact us for more information and prices. We can also arrange traditional tea parties in the wood or tailor made courses for hen parties.

A £100 non-refundable deposit is payable via BAC bank transfer or by cheque and post. Confirmation of the booking will be sent via email when the deposit payment has been made. The balance is payable in cash on arrival. All extras are payable prior to departure.
We cannot accept credit card payments.

Guests are reminded to remove and take away all their own rubbish when vacating the premises.

NB: Towels are NOT provided.

There is a shower (£1 coins required) and loo facilities on site.

Yurts have no refrigerators. A cool box is provided and you can have your ice bricks re-frozen for £1. Fresh water is provided in a large plastic container.

Yurts are provided with 5KW wood burning stove. A box of wood is provided. Further supplies available at £5 per box. Bags of logs for the open pit fire are also available at £5/bag. We also supply locally produced charcoal at £6.50 per 3 kilo bag.

Yurts have a locked door. However, we suggest that valuables are best kept with you or in a locked car. Forest Garden Shovelstrode takes no responsibility for any loss or damage to personal belongings or valuables incurred during your stay.
